Grew up in junior high and high school that were dormitorium-system, deep in the mountains. His name comes from a dog his father met in Alaska, and also the name of his beloved dog. In 2006, after the death of his beloved dog Nanook, he assumed the name NANOOK. Currently based in Tokyo, he works with drawing, painting and other forms of expression.
