Russell Maurice & Kenichiro Mizuno "ALTERED STATE" 変更された状態

C.C.P and Calm & Punk Gallery join forces, showcasing a unique collaboration between Russell Maurice (Gasius) & Kenichiro Mizuno. The "ALTERED STATE" exhibition was held at OIL Gallery by Bijutsu Techo, Shibuya, Tokyo - Japan 2021.

Although Mizuno and Maurice have very different origins, they share a homogenous fascination towards animation and manga-like visual language; their work can be described as a representation of the comic abstraction genre. The works presented in the exhibition visualise multiple themes mixed in a surreal crucible. Specifically; physicality; changes in form, science fiction vs. nature, humans, creatures, insects, and various worlds in between; the “ALTERED STATE” of consciousness.

The “ALTERED STATE” presents the first collaborative exhibition curated by Calm & Punk and C.C.P.. The exhibition presents a boundary breaking journey between two avant-garde artist, which path a way for contemporary art to arrive in the future.
